This day was created in memory of Harvey Milk who was an important gay rights activist and leader of the American Civil Rights Movement. This is a day dedicated to appreciating the benefits of the classic brown paper bags which are better for the environment compared to plastic bags and can withstand more pressure and weight! In Australia, they celebrate National Sorry Day on May 26th every year. It stated in 1998. This is a day of healing and encouraging people to be the bigger person, to not hold grudges, and to say sorry because it will heal your own heart and make the tension and anxiety of conflict finally go away!
